About Us 

Our journey as a church is one marked by God’s grace and steady faithfulness. Over the years, we’ve seen lives transformed, families strengthened, and hope restored as we gather to worship and serve.

At the heart of our church leadership is Pastor Carey Womack, a man whose life has been shaped by a deep and personal relationship with Jesus. Carey gave his life to Christ at just six years old during Vacation Bible School and has never looked back. Through seasons of doubt and calling, God led Carey into ministry while he was still in high school.

After serving as a youth minister and leading a small Baptist church, Carey married his wife Sarah in 1990. Their story is a beautiful reminder of God’s providence—Sarah first saw Carey on an album cover from the Christian rock band he played in and felt God was going to bring them together.

Years later, they’ve been married over 30 years, raised three children, and shared in many ministry adventures.

Pastor Carey completed his theological training at Bethel University and earned his Master of Divinity from Memphis Theological Seminary. Before coming to Camden Cumberland Presbyterian Church, he pastored two other CP churches, taught in a Christian school, and continued to preach and shepherd with humility and passion.

Down-to-earth and full of grace, Pastor Carey is known for his love of stories, sports (especially the Texas Longhorns!), and most of all—Jesus. He brings warmth, wisdom, and a shepherd’s heart to everything he does, always pointing others back to God’s Word and God’s love.
